For Food, I looked at Spencer McLaughlin’s and AJ’s website, along with Shannon and Richa’s website as well. First, Spencer and AJ’s website was very detailed with their information, and the design of the website was very well done. I liked the different ‘pages’ for each section of information instead of the usual one paged websites. I learned from Spencer and AJ’s website that since people back in Jesus’s time didn’t use utensils, they baked bread in thin sheets as to break apart more easily. Spencer and AJ’s website was very thorough, but one suggestion would be to add a picture for every ‘page’ of information. For Shannon and Richa’s website, I loved the background of the combine mixed with the other pictures of agriculture. The information was very well presented, and not too spaced out as if to lose one’s place on the website. I learned from Shannon and Richa’s website that in Jesus’ time, one way to separate the grain from the chaff would be to take a wooden board (called a tribulum) covered with sharp nails to press the gain from the chaff. One suggestion for Shannon and Richa’s website would be to not leave the bottom of the page blank, but instead maybe post their works cited there instead. Both websites were very informing and amazing!!

To read about food in the time of Jesus I visited Spencer’s and Aj’s website along with Shannon’s and Richa’s. On Spencer’s and Aj’s I thought that they did a great job of getting a lot of information across without cluttering the site. I learned that many ordinary people could not afford utensils so they had to bake bread flat and that rain and dry seasons determined the time when various crops were harvested. I think the biggest error on their website is spelling and wording. I think that if these two things were fixed it would make a quality information source. On Shannon’s and Richa’s I agree with Sloane, I really thought that the background was awesome. I did not know how they used to separate grain from the chaff. I thought that process was very interesting and inventive for the time. Also learning how they plowed the fields was cool. I think the only thing they could have done better was bullet their information so it not as hectic.

To learn about food in the time of Jesus I visited Spencer and Aj's website as well as Shannon and Richa's website. I liked how Spencer divided his information up into the many tabs rather than having an overwhelming and cluttered one-pager. I found it fascinating that people during the first century actually enjoyed and wanted to eat sour and bitterly flavored foods. If Spencer and AJ decided that they wanted to improve their website, they might pick a more contrasting color scheme, as the colors sort of blend in and don't necessarily catch the readers attention. Richa and Shannon's website was also well done. Perhaps my favorite part about their website was the background, which reflected the topic of the website. I found it interesting that back in that time people rarely ate meat, and that it was considered a luxury. If Shannon and Richa wanted to improve their website they could space out the information more so that the information was easier to read. All in all, both websites were very creative as well as informative.

I looked at Spencer and AJ's website along with Shannon and Richa's website for the topic of Food in Jesus' time. On Spencer and AJ's website I liked how they have buttons to direct you to different topics on their site. On Shannon and Richa's website I like how they have a picture relating to their topic as the background for their site. An interesting fact I learned from Spencer and AJ's website is that the Jewish culture had a lot of respect for bread, so much that they passed laws governing the preparation and use of it. An interesting fact I learned from Shannon and Richa's website is that donkeys were used in the process of kneading bread. I also learned that breaking bread was a sign of unity and friendship. One thing I would do differently on Spencer and AJ's website is use some more color to brighten up the site, but it is nicely done otherwise. One thing I would change on Shannon and Richa's website is use a different font so it is easier to read. Both websites were very interesting and I enjoyed reading them.

I visited Spencer's website and Shannon's and Richa's website which were I learned about food. I like how on Spencer's website he had multiple tabs to let you find what you wanted easily. On Shannon's and Richa's site I like the background that they used because it fit their topic very well. On Spencer's site, I learned about how people set up their kitchens and how they had feasts in the Bible. On Shannon's and Richa's site, I learned that common grains that were eaten during Jesus’ time were wheat, oat, and barely. Also that olives were beaten down with poles, and pounded into pulp by feet Pulp of oil placed in baskets and the finest, and lightest oil could easily run off and be noticed. Spencer could have had a few more pictures on his home page and Shannon and Richa could have used a different background for the font that they chose.

To learn about food I visited AJ’s and Spencer’s website as well as Shannon’s and Richa’s website. One thing I liked in Spencer’s and AJ’s website is that each different section inside of food has its own link to space everything out. I like that the background of Shannon’s and Richa’s website was a picture to make it more colorful. I found it interesting that people liked both sour and bitter tasting foods according to AJ’s and Spencer’s website. In Richa’s and Shannon’s website I found it interesting that breaking bread with someone was a sign of friendship. Spencer’s and AJ’s website was outstanding, however I think that if they included pictures throughout the entire website it could have been improved. Richa’s and Shannon’s website was fantastic as well but I think they could have spread out the information more in order to improve the website.

To learn about food in the time of Jesus I looked at the website of AJ and Spencer as well as Shannon and Richa’s website. Both of these websites were very well done. I really liked that Spencer and AJ divided information into pages and that they had a quote on the home that was related to their topic of food. The organization of information was great on the page. I learned that food plays a vital role in the symbolic language of the Bible. To improve this website I would use a more appealing color scheme as well as a few more pictures on the different pages, but overall this page is very well done. Next I went to the website of Shannon and Richa. I really liked the background on this website. It was related to the topic and made the website stand out. I was fascinated that bread could be a meal in and of itself during this time period. There is a lot of good information on the website but the page could be improved if the information was better arranged into bullet points or separated paragraphs. Both of these websites were informative and well made.

To learn about food and agriculture in the time of Jesus I visited AJ and Spencer’s website as well as Shannon and Richa’s website. For Shannon and Richa’s website I really liked the background and I thought it was very eye catching and unique. In addition to this, one thing that I found to be very interesting was the fact that in Jesus’s time bread could be considered a full meal. On AJ and Spencer’s website I was really a fan of the multiple tabs and just the overall organization on display in their website. Also, on their website I found it interesting that in the Jewish culture there were laws to govern how bread was to be prepared. Despite all of these wonderful traits each website could be improved. One way that I would improve Shannon and Richa’s website would be to make the font a different color or to use a colored text box instead of highlighting the words because in my opinion this looks less professional. One way that I would improve AJ and Spencer’s website would be to include more picture under each tab instead of having them all on the home page.

To learn about food during the time of Jesus, I visited Spencer and AJ’s website and then Shannon and Richa’s website. For Spencer and AJ, I really liked how they had different pages to their website that were easy to use. I learned that to cook people only had pots and a fireplace. I also learned that manure was used to richen the soil. One thing that I recommend they do differently for their website is to use a better background that stands out more. For Shannon and Richa’s website, I liked their title layout and the signifigance of the background. Two things I learned were that if your broke bread with someone, it was a sign of friendship, and that meat was a rare meal to have that often only the rich had. One thing I recommend that they should change is to have better organization of their facts rather than having them all in one place.

To learn about Food in the Time of Jesus, I looked at Spencer’s and AJ’s website and Shannon’s and Richa’s website. With Spencer’s and AJ’s website, I liked how it was very neat and organized with multiple links leading to different things. With Shannon’s and Richa’s website, I liked their background because it was different than the usual templates. Two interesting facts that I found in Spencer’s and AJ’s website was that the first century people wanted to eat the sour and bitter flavored foods and that tools for cooking included just a pot over wood fires. Two interesting facts I learned from Shannon’s and Richa’s website was that rice dishes were varied and based on blessings and that most people did not eat meat because it was considered luxurious; therefore typically only wealthy people ate it. One thing I would do to improve Spencer’s and AJ’s website would be to go back and check spelling and grammar. I would improve Shannon’s and Richa’s website by spreading out all of the information into separate links. I thought that both websites were very well done!

I wanted to learn more about food, so I checked out Spencer and AJ and Richa and Shannon’s websites. I thought adding a quote about food was a great touch to Spencer and AJ’s website. Also, I loved Shannon and Richa’s background picture on their website. The picture was so sharp and vivid, it was a great addition to the website. I learned from Spencer and AJ’s website that food was symbolic in The Bible. Richa and Shannon’s website taught me that ovens were made of brick. To enhance Spencer and AJ’s website, I would get rid of the metallic background, it made reading the text very hard. Shannon and Richa could take their text out of italics, so it is easier to read. Both websites were phenomenal and I enjoyed looking at them.

To learn about food in the time of Jesus I viewed spencer and AJ’s website and Shannon and Richas website. I liked that Spencer and AJ’s website had multiple pictures illustrating food and or farming. On Shannon and Richa’s website I liked that they had a lot of information neatly presented. I found it very interesting to think about the significance of food from Eve’s first bite to modern day. I learned that olives were beaten down and grinded into a pulp to provide things such as olive oil. One thing Spencer and AJ could have done differently is keep the background solid colors instead of patterns to be more aesthetically appealing. Shannon and Richa could have made the text a color so it would stand out better without having to highlight it.

To learn about food, I looked at Spencer and AJ’s and Shannon and Richa’s websites. Spencer and AJ’s website was very neat because it was organized by topics. I liked how Shannon and Richa used the picture as their background that well represented their topic. It was interesting to learn that the Prophet’s used food metaphors in their vocabulary as food and cooking terms that were understood globally. I also discovered that grain was ground into flour by heavy stones that were turned by donkeys. To improve their website, Spencer and AJ could’ve used a wider variety of colors. Shannon and Richa had good information, but they could’ve spread it out more to make it more organized. I learned a lot from both websites.
